As the application list for the Powertech products is so broad and varied, you need to have a wide selection of quality Extinguishing Mediums available. Through our strong supplier partnerships, Powertech can offer an extensive range of Extinguishing Mediums. Powertech can carefully select the correct Agent specifically suited to your risk, be it a Class F wet chemical for Kitchen applications or the electrically non-conductive, no-residue Clean Agent for your server cabinet. You can find a list of some of our suppression agents below, but please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss your extinguishing medium options.
Specially designed to tackle Class F hazards (Cooking Oils or Fats) the Class F Wet Chemical has special materials that react with hot burning oil to create a thick soapy heat resistant crust on top of the cooking oil surface.
Preventing the flammable vapours reacting with oxygen. It has the same quick flame knockdown as Dry Powder or Foam but Class F Wet Chemical has the advantage of the high heat resistant fire blanket.
HFC-227ea more commonly known as FM-200™ is the most tested liquefiable clean agent of all time, it is an electrically non-conductive odourless and colourless gas.
This offers minimal downtime due to no clean-up post discharge. It is stored liquid and introduced into the protected hazard as a clear colourless vapor. HFC-227ea leaves no residue and is suitable for occupied spaces. HFC-227ea has zero Ozone Depletion Potential.
FK‑5–1‑12 more commonly known as Novec™ 1230 is a fluorinated ketone that is stored as a liquid and discharged as a gas.
It distributes uniformly throughout the hazard zone, and suppresses fire primarily by heat absorption from the flame.
With a zero ozone depletion potential (ODP), a global warming potential (GWP) of just one, and an atmospheric lifetime (ALT) of only five days, Novec™ 1230 fluid offers an environmentally responsible option for fire suppression. With a low GWP, Novec™ 1230 does not fall under the European F‑Gas Regulation, which imposes further control on minimising unwanted emissions and registration of use.
Available in ABC, BC or D classifications, Dry Powder is an extremely effective firefighting medium and is utilised in areas where the introduction of water based protection is not ideal.
It is electrically non-conductive and therefore can safely protect your electrical hazards along with any Class A or B risks.
AFFF Foam (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) systems are used for areas where flammable liquids and/or plastics are handled and stored.
Foam works by the combined mechanisms of cooling, separating the flame/ignition source from the product surface, suppressing vapours and smothering. It can also secure for extended periods of time against reflash or reignition.
